I love to play with furniture. Refinishing or Painting – either way, there is something very satisfying about taking something someone would otherwise toss out and making it into a useful, even artful piece. Here are just of few of the pieces we’ve done.
first project Mark and I made for the shop – a custom fireplace, painted a deep gray and gilding on the trim
Alex working his first project
teaching Cathy and Maureen how to paint and distress
one of the tables I did. The Green over White is a bit frightening
But then add the aging wax and it’s beautiful!
such a beautiful table
the cart was nice – but the white was not doing it for me
a bit of slate and it’s so much better!
Maureen is so great at this!
Slate, light turquoise, gilding wax and we’re done!
I had to make a mirror to go with the chest – this is before
a cupboard needed some help
Alex painting the inside
this Blue is gorgeous!
adding lights really made it shine!
Miss Maureen helping us with the painting of another great chest
all that prep work!
this mini writing desk was going to be tossed
After painting it with a light red over a cream, I applied aging wax
should have worn gloves
so pretty! but the desk only lasted a day in the shop after posting the photo – it now has a great new home!
We sell the paint and supplies in our shop and teach classes! Come see pieces we’ve done or ask about learning how to refinish, upcycle or paint furniture of your own!
