Hope you are enjoying your summer! We are celebrating the first year in our shop, and what a great year it has been! We have enjoyed meeting so many people since we first opened, people traveling in from different states, as well as feeling the happy and supportive embrace of friends and neighbors as we grow. We thank you for your support and thank you for the opportunity to give back to our community.
One of the most common statements we hear is “Stafford really needs a shop like this.” We agree! Simply Beautiful Spaces was created from home as a humble redesign company in 2007, but for many years, my desire was to have a shop and share my passion for all things beautiful; vintage finds as well as eclectic and traditional furnishings. After three years of looking, pondering and finding inspiration, here we are, one year later, an eclectic mix of new furnishings and transitional décor with vintage and salvaged finds. It truly is a unique shop, as the style and feel is definitely a composition of all things treasured that hopefully inspires our visitors and patrons. We are Stafford’s own “Old Town” shop, and what makes us unique is our mix of old treasures with new finds and our incredibly talented staff and artisans we’ve found along the way.
One of the main goals for the shop is to bring in “Made in the USA” and artisanal products that are unique and affordable. We’ve introduced our neighbors to the wonderful world of VOC free, natural chalk-based paints with CeCe Caldwell AND American Paint Company who graciously accepted our shop as the only one in the area to carry their products. Furthering our desire to bring in eco-friendly items, we also carry 1820 House candles, Buttercup and Thistle soaps, recycled plastic products made by Me and Meme, customized/personalized artwork and pillows, and up-cycled items Kate and her awesome team create from items that would have otherwise been discarded. Inviting local artists to showcase their work and continue to look for talented artisans in the Stafford area is an ongoing endeavor.
We love our community! Not only have you all been great and loyal patrons, but you’ve inspired us to give you more. We launched our first class in October and the requests have been overwhelming. Constantly wanting to teach you fun and easy ways to bring new life to furniture, or create art and décor with items you can find locally, we are always having a class or a “Girl’s Night Out” event and provide a wonderful event for groups of friends, co-workers, and teachers!
We love giving back to our community. We have given thousands of dollars to our local schools and churches through sponsorships and fundraisers at our shop, donated furnishings to the Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center, provided auction items to the Quantico Officers’ Spouses’ Organization for their Scholarship Program, and auction items to the Fashions and Tea for the Cause for the Regional Cancer Center at Mary Washington Hospital. We love giving when and where we can!
When you shop with us, not only are you helping us give back to our community, you also help us provide more employment opportunities and allow us to continue to thrive and grow into a Stafford mainstay. Come help us celebrate! July marks our 1st Year of our shop being open and we’d love to see you and thank you in person for helping us grow! Throughout the month of July we will have specials and giveaways, keeping up with us on Facebook is the best way to stay informed as well as signing up for our newsletter in our shop or here:
Thank you for being a great neighbor and patron to our shop!
Sincerely, Kate and crew!
